Light within light… it seems to me to be a metaphor for the human soul, the singular light within that great general light of existence.”

Detox: 48 hours later

The last serving.

I’m not sure if it’s simply a placebo, but regardless the starvation/detoxification seems to have worked my belly is indeed less bloated (in fact, there is a very sexy “washboardness” to it.

It’s strange how when you are forced not to eat all you can seem to think of is stuffing your face with food, yet when you’re finally given the freedom to eat anything it’s suddenly so difficult to want to eat something.

Following the detox plan, I was told to take my food intake slowly. First meal of the day was a small plate of spaghetti, unfortunately I finished it too quickly to take photos. It seemed a relatively good start, followed by a banana to snack on during the train journey.

A late vegetarianesque lunch of japanese vegetable curry, vegetable tempura and some nigiri followed after. The 7-Up was a bit adventurous but I did miss the fizzy taste in my mouth. This Wasabi lunch totaled at £12 which isn’t too shabby considering how full it makes you.

A mediterranean dinner finished the evening. Using the budget-friendly Taste card, we managed to accrue a bill of £10 per person for a selection of cold and hot mezzes, followed by stone grilled meats (vegetables for the vegetarians) with rice and salad. Dinner was served at the Ambience bar and restaurant near Wimbledon Park.

All in all a very health first day of meals.

Detox: Day 1

It tastes like feet.

A detox plan for a lighter and slimmer me! Or so they say… really I just need a break from engorging myself on food since my marathon. The idea of a detox seemed a suitable alternative to good old fashioned starvation.

This particular detox plan is carried over 2 days, with the purpose of flushing away toxins while reducing belly bloat and puffiness. I’m not particularly weight conscious but I suppose my waist could use a trimming. And electrolyte loaded coconut water.

You are an autonomous striver, with hidden strength.

Your responses indicate a desire to overcome a persistent feeling of emptiness or dissatisfaction. You believe life should have more to offer, and fear you have somehow not achieved everything you deserve.

Your desire for legitimate respect and success has led to increasing anxiety. Consequently, you no longer exhibit some of the friendliness and openness for which you were once known.

Similarly, you fear being overly influenced by others. You are often fiercely independent, which sometimes leads to being resistant to the opinions of friends and relatives — even to the point of denying what you fear may actually be true.

This behavior stems from your wish to be regarded as an authority. It leads you to react strongly when you suspect you might be wrong. At times you feel that too much is being asked of you, and that you are not properly recognized for your efforts. This situation — be it fueled by others’ jealousy or negligence — adds to the stress in your life.

Luckily, your determination is unyielding. Unlike others facing similar adversity, you forge ahead despite the challenges. Through strength of will or simple endurance, you are unique in your ability to withstand the troubles of a complicated life.

Video

My girlfriend and I just registered ourselves for the Paris Marathon 2013… Booyah.

stretch upward into the sky.

The budding leaves devour the light, adding depth to the forest’s darkness.

The hunter does not notice the glare nor the claws of the beast biding in the darkness.

Tonight is the night when the hunter will be hunted.

This is a Sleeping Forest.
